Hi, my name is Steven Craig; I’m excited to be presenting my literacy program throughout New England next summer as the character Stevie Kidding, the ridiculous magician.

I'm contacting you for two reasons:

1. I have a wonderfully interactive, fun-filled magic program that perfectly illustrates and promotes the 2020 summer reading program theme of "Imagine Your Story."

2. I'm now booking my new 2020 summer reading program.

This innovative program celebrates the imagination by blending magic, puppetry, and join-in storytelling to inspire children to use their imagination to dream big, believe in themselves, and create their own story.

As a master magician and accomplished children’s entertainer for more than 25 years (as well as a member of the Massachusetts Library Association, the New England Library Association, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the International Brotherhood of Magicians), I’ve been providing exceptional programs for children in elementary schools and preschools for more than two decades. This means you can rest assured the children are going to have a wonderful time and become excited about checking out books about their story!

I use a variety of engaging performance techniques which capture the attention of young children, involve them throughout the show, and reinforce key messages.

The three key program messages are:

Use your imagination to dream big and create your own story.
Believe in yourself.
Visit the library often.

I've created a character -- "Stevie Kidding, the ridiculous magician" -- who loves reading books, especially comic books! Why comic books? In short, research has undeniably shown that comic books engage children in reading.
